Hi! I’m Lee Chaix McDonough, the founder of Caravel Coaching. After over a decade as a social worker, therapist, public health professional, I entered the coaching field to help motivated, high-achieving professionals create lives they love.
I’m a Certified Professional Coach and Licensed Clinical Social Worker living in New Bern, North Carolina. I am an alumna of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tar Heels!), receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 and my Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Public Health degrees in 2003. I’ve practiced clinical social work independently since 2008, and am currently licensed in North Carolina and Florida. I have worked in a variety of professional settings, including hospitals, local governments, non-profit organizations, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and as a civilian for the United States Air Force.
I am a graduate of the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), where I received my Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) and Certified Professional Coach (CPC) credentials. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and I hold the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation.
I love spending time with my husband, Patrick, my sons Jack & Ben, or my pug, Phineas. When I’m not helping people live fulfilling lives, you’ll find me running, practicing yoga, writing, and listening to podcasts (The West Wing Weekly, Judge John Hodgman, and anything by Gimlet Media are my favorites).
